Our Story Presentation / Key Note
45 – 90 minutes
Broaden the lens of your staff and community by listening to our experiences as young Aboriginal men and women growing up around culture and learning to develop our cultural identity in urban areas. Listen to how this has helped us develop a unique outlook on life and what it means to be proud Aboriginal people as well as the importance that culture plays to our identity, mental health and all aspects of life. This session sees us open up about our struggles through life, trauma passed onto us from the displacement and events of the Stolen Generation and how the impact of past events has trickled into our lives. Let us create a safe place for you to engage with us, ask us difficult questions regarding our culture, stereotypes, media portrayal and anything in between. We can tailor this session to focus on different topics including art, spirituality or any relevant topics at the time.

History of Australia, a First Nations Perspective
45 – 90 minutes
It’s time to flip the perspective of the teachings of history in Australia. Listen and engage during this 45 minute session where we explain and educate about the implications of colonisation and how this looked from the land as opposed to from the ships that were sailing onto the coast of this ‘new found land’. This session aims to bring an insight into historical events during initial settlement as well as key teachings and little-known insights into how First Nations people operated prior to, and in the early years of, settlement. From here, we move into teachings around the Stolen Generation and impacts both past, present and future, yarning about how we can now work cohesively to begin and continue mending past trauma.

Let us work together with your team to design and paint a collaborative First Nations artwork. Through yarning and engagement with the project, your team will work together to create a piece of art using First Nations symbolism and techniques. Investing yourself in creating a piece with strong meaning and values is a fantastic way to clear your head, build relationships with your team and, of course, gain new knowledge and experiences around First Nations Art. Once the session concludes, our professional artist will take the artwork to their studio and complete the piece, returning the artwork to your facility ready to display proudly as a key focal point for continuing discussion around First Nations culture for years to come.

Premium Team Building Experience
2-3 hours

Our premium staff team building experience sees you join our facilitators in a productive and interactive workshop of First Nations storytelling, artwork and yarn circles. Our most experienced facilitators will create a safe space by sharing authentically about themselves, to foster discussion and learning around First Nations issues and topics. From here, we introduce your team to education around our artwork and explore how art has been used as one of our most important educational tools for tens of thousands of years.

Your staff will use their newfound knowledge to create their own artwork around their story – a great way to get hands on and encourage enjoyable, stress-free participation of all staff.

Once complete, let us engage everyone in safe, yarning circles for staff to share the story of their artwork and the experiences they drew on to paint with. This part of the session provides staff with perspective and insight into other members lives and memories outside of work and always proves to be productive as a team building experience.
